Why E-Coating?

THE PAINT
Southern E-Coat Systems uses cathodic electro deposition paint. This automated process works by submerging the negatively charged parts into a tank of positively charged paint solution, which creates a durable bond and uniform coating that covers even in hard-to-reach spots.

THE SYSTEM
Southern E-Coat operates a Therma-Tron-X SST System that utilizes an eight stage clean/phosphate pretreatment and a 1,000 gallon tank that uses the latest generation cathodic paint designed to be lead-free, HAPS free, and a very low VOC.

THE FINISH
E-coating offers several advantages in the finishing of metal products.

• Corrosion resistance is superior to other coating application methods because immersion E-coating provides a complete, uniform coating -- even in corners, on edges, and in hard-to-reach, partially enclosed spaces.
• Uniform film build is ideal for parts with close dimensional requirements.
• Low solvent, water-borne formulations make E-coating the perfect environmentally friendly finish.
